Opencart InStock Notification Installation and Operating Manual

Introduction:

Would you like to allow customers and guests to sign up for notifications when a product becomes available again? Are you looking to keep customers engaged even when a product is out of stock? The Opencart InStock Notification module helps you do just that by enabling a “Notify Me” button for out-of-stock products. It will send automated notifications once the product is restocked. This guide will walk you through the installation, configuration, and management of the InStock Notification module, ensuring you can easily notify customers when products they are interested in are back in stock.

Steps to Install the Module

Go to Opencart’s Admin panel >> Extension >> Installer.

1. Go to Opencart’s Admin Panel and click on ‘Extensions’ to see the drop-down list.
2. Then click on ‘Installer’ from the drop-down list.
3. After clicking on ‘Installer,’ you will see a file upload icon at the top right of the page, as shown below. (Before uploading, you need to save your file in your system with a name that ends with ‘.ocmod.zip’.)
4. You will see an entry with the module name on your screen. Then, click on the green button to install the module.

Permission: Opencart InStock Notification

Now, grant the store administrators permission to edit the module.

Opencart’s Admin panel >> System >> User >> User Groups >> Edit Administrator

1. Go to Opencart’s Admin Panel and click on ‘System’ to see the drop-down list.
2. Then click on ‘Users’.
3. When you click on ‘Users,’ you will see a drop-down list. Then click on ‘User Groups.’
4. Edit Administrator will allow permission for the user.

Configuration: Opencart InStock Notification

Opencart’s Admin panel >> Extensions >> Extensions >> Choose The Extension Type >> Modules >> Iml In Stock Notification >> Install and edit.

1. Go to Opencart’s Admin Panel and click on ‘Extensions’ to see the drop-down list.
2. Again, click on ‘Extensions’ from the drop-down list.
3. Choose your extension type.

1. Click on the green button, install the module, and edit.

1. Click the edit button.
2. Set the mail subject and message.
3. Set the module status to ‘Enable’ and save.

NOTE: The basic template for the module is already set. If the admin wants to change, the message box {customer_name} and {product_name} must be the same. Don’t change them, or you can add anything to the mail message.

So, here we complete the module installation, permission, and configuration part.

Store View 

When a customer finds a product out of stock, he will see a ‘Notify Me’ button. If he wants to be notified when the product is available by sample, add his name and email to the registration form.

• Button: ‘Notify me’

• Registration form: Name and email.

Admin View

The admin will be able to see all the registered customers and the notified customer list.

NOTE: All emails are sent automatically when the admin visits the registered customer page.
